If you are a small API platform company that has a hard time competing with the larger elephants, go up the food chain, offer a more specific and complete service and focus on a specific segment.
The tricky part is what to offer and which segment to cater to that will allow you to be the best company in that segment.

Best of Breed WebRTC Software Components

The optimal goal for WebRTC should be that Web developers will be able to easily add WebRTC features to their applications. Throw in some media services as they see fit and not need to worry too much for client side WebRTC API compatibility. Reality is that for the common Web developer, we are not really there yet.

I already wrote there is no value in plain vanilla communication services. Why, because you can get them from the big guys for free – Google Hangouts, Skype, Facebook, WhatsApp… If you are a newcomer launching such a service, put it in context, serve a well-defined community or you will not survive. Does this rule apply also for API platforms?

AT&T Takes Your Identity to the Web

WebRTC API platforms are not new around here. From a high level perspective, most of these API platforms seem to be more of the same. Having said that, some have an unfair advantage. AT&T could have taken the me too approach but they didn’t. They took a different and interesting stab at WebRTC and made use of their unfair advantage, their users and their AT&T identity.
